Gross kitty love

We were woken up this morning by Oz jumping on the bed, off the bed, and meowing a lot. I didn't really think much of it, because (unfortunately) this is his usual routine to get us to watch him eat or let him outside. The only think different was the amount of meowing, but hey, a cat can feel chatty too. I kept trying to fall back asleep when a fly started buzzing around us! It seemed really loud in the quiet room and kept landing on us so I swiped a less-favored book from the nightstand and got up to swat it so we could sleep in in peace.

...And step--lightly on something fluffy. But I felt it go crunch a little bit. I looked down and at first I thought it was Oz's little fuzzy catnip fish (whose tail is made of feathers).

OMG it's a bird! Oz brought in a bird. OMG I stepped on it!! Ew ew ew eeeeeewewewewew! Pathetically, I have a girlie freak out in my tank top and underwear, book in hand. I even did the Ew Gross Dance.

What worse way to start a Monday morning? Its hard to get it out of my head, which means I'm in a continual state of grossed-out. This is a first for Oz and I hope to god he never does it again. Sometimes he catches birds, and yeah, I praise him some, since he can't help being a cat anyway, but leave it by my bed?? Eeeeew!

The silver lining is that I know he still loves me best. Because he left it on my side of the bed.

Just be happy he didn't drop it ON the bed, so that it got lost in covers or you rolled onto it. EW.

I feel sorry for both you and the bird. :-(
